About Ben
Financial Forecasting | Tax | Business Analysis | Succession
Ben Coleman is a Director at SLS Advisory and a Chartered Accountant, CPA and Chartered Tax Adviser with more than 25 years’ experience helping business owners understand their numbers, plan for growth and prepare for significant financial decisions.
Since entering the profession in 2000 and becoming a founding director of SLS Advisory in 2009, Ben has worked closely with business owners across the financial, operational and strategic aspects of their businesses.
His experience spans financial forecasting, business analysis, taxation and succession planning, giving him a practical understanding of the financial decisions that can materially affect a business owner's wealth and their eventual exit.
For owners preparing to sell, the numbers matter.
A business may look successful from the outside, but buyers ultimately want confidence in the quality, sustainability and transferability of its earnings. Tax structures, financial performance, cash flow, forecasting and succession arrangements can all influence the outcome.
Ben's role is to help owners understand and strengthen these foundations before they become transaction issues.
The Work
At SLS Advisory, Ben helps business owners use financial information to make better decisions about their businesses and their future.
His work includes financial forecasting, business analysis, taxation, strategic planning and succession. By looking beyond historical financial statements and understanding what drives future performance, Ben helps owners identify issues early and make informed decisions before an exit is on the table.
For business owners considering a future sale, this preparation can be critical. The objective isn't simply to produce better accounts — it is to build a business with stronger financial foundations, clearer performance and greater confidence around what happens when the owner eventually steps away.
At Get Exit Ready
Ben presents The Numbers.
He explores the financial foundations that underpin a successful business exit, what buyers look for in the numbers, how profitability and cash flow affect value, the tax considerations owners need to understand, and why financial preparation should begin well before a business goes to market.
Owners leave with a clearer understanding of the financial factors that can influence their exit outcome, and the practical steps they can take now to improve their position later.
